Microsoft has officially confirmed that the following version of its images API is coming to the next version of its own operating system. DirectX 12 arrives with Windows 10.
In the same time, the technology will also be supported by Unreal Engine 4. This should make certain that many of the games that are future (on PC and Xbox One) will benefit from the new application programming interface.
While elaborate details have yet to be shared, the business an evidence that the last variant will send with DirectX 12.
Programmers that enroll in the Windows Insider Program and DirectX 12 Early Access in the meantime, will get everything they want to benefit from the technology before others:
"We particularly support gamers to simply help us make this release excellent for you by becoming Windows Insiders. Game developers that are part of our DirectX 12 Early Access application have even more incentive to join the Windows Insider program.
These game developers will receive everything they need to kickstart their DX12 development, including: updated runtime, API headers, drivers, documentation, and samples, all of which will work with all the Windows 10 Technical Preview."
The application titan also declared that it worked to come up with a specific edition of the technology for Unreal Engine 4.
DirectX 12 is set to be supported by almost all leading hardware makers, including NVIDIA and Intel. And as a result of the battery and performance developments it brings, the brand new technology is placed to be a difference maker in games, visuals and multimedia.
We have a great deal about it leading up to this evidence, now all we want is to find out whether it will be backwards compatible with earlier versions.
